How to get more Google reviews for your business
Most happy customers never leave a review unless they are asked. These steps are simple, free to start, and follow Google's rules.

1. Use your direct Google review link
Every Google Business Profile has a link that opens the review box directly. The fewer taps between your customer and the star rating, the more people finish. You can find the link in your Business Profile under the option to ask for reviews.
2. Ask right after the visit
Ask while the experience is fresh: at the counter, at checkout, or in a message the same day. Waiting a week makes the review far less likely.
3. Ask on WhatsApp
Most customers in India read WhatsApp far more than email. A short, polite message with the review link is easy to answer in one tap. Tarazu automates this: after each visit, it sends a friendly WhatsApp message with a one-tap link to your Google review box, and asks each customer at most once every 90 days.
4. Ask everyone, not only the happy ones
Google's policy does not allow “review gating”, which means asking only customers you expect to be positive. Ask every customer and respond well to whatever you receive.
5. Never pay for reviews or offer rewards
Google's policy does not allow offering incentives such as discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews, and it does not allow fake reviews. Violations can get reviews removed and can put your profile at risk. Make it easy to review, and let customers decide.
6. Reply to the reviews you get
Replies show that you read reviews, and customers who see you respond are more likely to trust you. See our guide on how to reply to Google reviews.
7. Encourage specific feedback
Reviews that mention what the customer used, such as “haircut”, “dinner on Saturday” or “check-in”, are more useful to future customers and match more searches than “good service”. A gentle line like “tell us what you enjoyed” is fine. Do not script the words.
Frequently asked questions
How many Google reviews do I need?
There is no magic number. A steady flow of recent, genuine reviews matters more than a single burst. Look at competitors in your area and aim to be comfortably ahead.
Is it allowed to ask customers for Google reviews?
Yes. Asking is encouraged, as long as you ask everyone, do not offer rewards, and do not write reviews for customers.
Can I send a WhatsApp message to ask for a review?
Yes, to customers who have visited you. Keep it short and polite, include the review link, do not message people repeatedly, and respect anyone who opts out. Tarazu follows these rules automatically.
Why did my Google review disappear?
Google may remove reviews it detects as spam or in violation of its policies. Reviews asked for through rewards or posted by people who have not visited are the most likely to disappear.
